Today, besides energy, you read and hear a lot about interacting, as if it were a new idea. It seems that almost everything is becoming smart and interactive, such as cars, toys, books, television, computers, sensors, and so forth. Dictionaries define the word interact as acting on one another in a reciprocal way. A search of the Internet on the popular word interactive draws over 1.3 billion hits.

No wonder. Interactive forces transferring energy is what animates and makes things work. You push on something; it pushes back, as you both move or deflect, transferring energy.

Intuitively, you think you know what it means to interact. You often naturally interact with people and things, witness things naturally interacting, and perhaps wonder what the fuss is all about. Interacting with a book, you read; it entertains or informs. But now, to be really interactive you must influence the story and its ending.

Maybe the new focus has some merit. A better under-standing and deeper insight could possibly help people to better interact, especially to better sense and communicate, and to feel better about both people and things.

Being an energy engine, human the machine, you already intuitively know much about mystical energy. No doubt, moving or lifting something is work that expends energy. You sense that the transfer of energy is an interactive event involving an effort moving something. And moving is opposed by inertia, stiffness, friction, and gravity, which store energy in different ways. Evidently, most gears, pulleys, and levers transfer energy with a smaller force acting over a greater distance.

You know that the mystical energy that powers our universe comes from the sun, and exists here on earth in many forms: mechanical, electrical, thermal, chemical, and so forth. But it is experienced only when transferring between interacting structures by its two inseparable parts, effort and motion, as illustrated. Evidently, energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred, stored, or converted. Releasing stored energy triggers and powers events, sometimes catastrophically, like earthquakes or lightening.

Perhaps you could interactively learn more about the interactive transfer of energy by repeating some simple experiments of Galileo and Newton, using modern materials and technology. According to the encyclopedia, with pendulums and falling objects, these two famous scientists helped discover and explain what happens here on earth, and in the heavens. They developed the laws of the pendulum, freely falling objects, motion, and universal gravitation.

Fortunately, a desktop, structural model has recently been developed that enables you to quickly and conveniently perform such tests. Through transfers of energy, it functions to transfer forces of nature and man into motion, and motion into flexing of visual sensors resembling lollipops. Vertical tilt of the sensors indicates a force transferring energy is changing motion (speed).

Testing behavior involves disturbing the structure, and sensing or observing its motion, similar to the way a doctor tests reflexes. Afterwards, the doctor might tell you that when pressured or forced to do something, you feel the stress, and the strain shows. The same could be said about a test object. With electronic testing, sensors resemble senses, cables nerve fibers, and the monitor your brain.

Rhythmically Swinging – To power swing, manually move the pivots or base of the Eneractor™ back and forth at a natural rate, which gradually adds energy to build up big swinging excursions. This task requires some skill and dexterity. The energy you impart alternately stores and transfers between height and speed, until gradually dissipated by friction, and stored as heat. Set a toy person on top of swing, and take it for a ride. Twist and release swing to excite natural turning oscillations.

Naturally interacting The Eneractor™ swing coasts as a simple swing in one direction, and as a glider-type swing in the other. Surprisingly, the lollipop sensors flex normally on the glider swing, but not on the simple swing. As illustrated, weight, a force always acting vertically downward cannot directly help move the glider swing and riders back and forth horizontally. Likewise, tension in the line always directed toward the pivot cannot help propel the simple swing and riders along their arcing paths. Thus lollipop riders interact with the glider swing, whereas riders on the simple swing interact only with the earth in the direction the swing moves. Remember the soothing, relaxed feeling you enjoyed when rhythmically coasting in a simple childhood swing, as you freely fell along the arcing path. Bigger excursions or centrally adding mass does not change the coasting or falling rate, confirming Newton’s famous law of motion.

Energetically Interacting When dropped, an elastically suspended, freely falling object instrumented with a dual, vertically flexing, lollipop sensor assembly does not bounce much. Instead, the lollipop sensors flutter wildly. Excessive interaction suppresses the bouncing motion of interest. The object bounces when swinging because the elastic cord acting as a fish-scale type, force sensor detects changes in tension. Energetic interaction changes the swinging motion of interest.

Thoughtfully Concluding – Eneract is what people and things do. Energetic interacting, forces of nature and man transferring energy between structures move and bend things, trigger and power events, sense and flow information animating the world and making it work. As Galileo and Newton observed, and testing the Lollipop Interactor confirms, mass, weight, inertia, elasticity, force, motion, and energy are all eneractively related through gravity, in a magnificent way.

Wisely Extending – People also naturally eneractively sense and communicate. Naturally eneracting: physically, mentally, and spiritually, people experience energy transferring as an effort moving something. Physically force moves objects, mentally feeling stimulates thought, and spiritually spirit inspires action. For example, virtues, such as care, faith, trust, love, and hope, spiritually inspire people to do honest work and brave, unselfish deeds.

Gratefully Benefiting Have fun eneractively toying with mysterious gravity, mystical energy, and lollipop sensors. Experience and enjoy the radiant, vibrant, communicant, interactive nature and behavior of people and things. Playing with the Lollipop Eneractor™ incidentally develops a sensible, wholesome, eneractive view of the world and reality. Eneractior experiments involve hands-on, minds-on, inquiry-based learning promoted by national educational standards.

    Eneractively Swinging

Weight moves mass along an arcing path. Energy you impart alternately stores and transfers between height and motion

Weight, a force acting down,  cannot directly help move glider swing or sensor sideways.

Tension force acting normal to path can’t help propel swing or sensor along their arcing paths.

Increasing only the mass increases forces and inertia, but does not change the coasting or falling rate, confirming Newton’s famous law of motion, F=ma.

Likewise, increasing only the excursion does not change the coasting or falling rate, much.

Lengthening the suspension decreases the coasting rate.

Vertical tilt of sensor indicates a force transferring energy is changing the speed of the swinging object. Inertial motion sensors work in a similar way.

     Verbally Eneract

Eneractively conserve energy to sense and communicate effectively.

Communicate feelings with few or no words. Transfer thoughts with little feeling. But teach and entertain at a moderate emotional level, where energy transfers most efficiently.

Eloquently write by often using feeling and action words together to virtually transfer energy.
